Why a dedicated pickleball scoreboard
Pickleball is the fastest-growing sport in the world, but most courts still keep score with two paddles propped on a bench. That works until you need to remember whether the third number is a 1 or a 2 — and then nobody can agree, and you replay the rally.
A dedicated pickleball scoreboard fixes that. RallyRef shows the score in numerals you can read from across the court, handles the doubles 3-number call, knows about the kitchen and the two-bounce rule, and runs in your browser with no install.
How to use it
- — Open /play?sport=pickleball on any phone, tablet or laptop.
- — Pick singles or doubles. Pick rally scoring or side-out (traditional).
- — Tap the left side to add a point for Team A, the right side for Team B.
- — The 3-number doubles call updates automatically. Win-by-2 is enforced. Best of 3 is the default.
- — Cast it to a TV with AirPlay or Chromecast for a club-grade overhead board.
There are no accounts, no payments, no ads. Just open the URL and play.
Formats and rule variants supported
- — Singles, side-out scoring: server score, then receiver score. First to 11, win by 2.
- — Doubles, side-out scoring: the classic USA Pickleball default. Server team score, receiver team score, server number (1 or 2). The first service turn of the game starts at 0-0-2.
- — Rally scoring: every rally produces a point. Used by the PPA Tour and a growing number of leagues. First to 11, win by 2, best of 3.
- — Tournament finals: switch the target to 15 or 21 with one tap.

Use it on the club TV
Most clubs that switch to a digital pickleball scoreboard end up casting RallyRef to a wall-mounted TV next to the courts. AirPlay from an iPad, Chromecast from a Chromebook, or just plug a cheap mini-PC into HDMI. The scoreboard scales to any resolution and stays readable from across the court.
If you run a club and want your colours, your logo and your subdomain on it, RallyRef offers a white-label tier — same scoreboard, your brand. See the white-label edition.
Does it work without internet?
After the first load, RallyRef caches itself as a Progressive Web App. Once it is open, you can disconnect from wifi and the scoreboard keeps working — points still tap, the score still updates. Useful for outdoor courts in spotty-coverage spots.
You can also "Add to Home Screen" on iPhone or Android to launch it full-screen with no browser chrome.
Frequently asked
Is the pickleball scoreboard really free?
Yes. RallyRef is free for individual use — no signup, no app store, no ads. We offer paid white-label tiers for clubs that want their own branding, but the core scoreboard is and will stay free.
Does it support the 3-number call in doubles?
Yes. In doubles mode, the scoreboard automatically tracks server-team score, receiver-team score, and server number 1 or 2, and it knows about the special 0-0-2 first-service-turn rule.
Can I use rally scoring instead of side-out?
Yes. Toggle between rally and side-out (traditional) scoring with one tap. Rally scoring is what the PPA Tour uses and it makes matches finish in a more predictable amount of time.
Can I cast it to a TV?
Yes. Use AirPlay from an iPad or Chromecast from a laptop, or plug a small HDMI device into the TV and load the page. The scoreboard scales to any resolution and stays readable from court distance.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes — anywhere you have a browser. You can also Add to Home Screen for a full-screen, app-like launch.
Does it work without internet after the first load?
Yes. RallyRef is a Progressive Web App and caches itself after first load. Drop your wifi mid-game and the scoreboard keeps tapping happily.
